A Better Board for the Greater Good: ADEPT Board Effectiveness Framework
An organization's board of directors has a unique and powerful leadership role. Too often, a lack of clarity or interpersonal conflicts prevent boards from being the effective leadership teams they could be. In this workshop session best suited to board members and executives who report to boards, participants will be introduced to the ADEPT Board Effectiveness Framework which they will customize to fit their organizational contexts. The evidence-based ADEPT framework includes the whole-board effectiveness dimensions of Accountability and Dedication, as well as the individual board member dimensions of Power and Teachability.

1
I've been in your shoes
As a current or former board member for seven unique nonprofit organizations, I know the joys and challenges of board service from the inside. I'll share the best of my experience, and I won't ask you to do anything I wouldn't ask myself or one of my own boards to do.

2
I customize services for every client
Your organization is unique, and so are your board development needs. I'll meet you and your team where you are, and develop a high-impact process that helps you get where you want to go.

3
I design people-first processes
One of the things I can see that my clients sometimes can't is all the great work you and your team are already doing. I build on that foundation so that everyone can feel safe enough to explore what we need to change.

4
I distinguish between relational needs and board process needs
A lot of consultants want to hand you meeting practices and board processes that have worked somewhere else. I know that no board process can be effective if your board doesn't first have strong relational capital, which I'll help you build.
